Visa Service

We welcome you to the Visa Section of the United States America to Rwanda.

Visas are processed only on Mondays and Thursdays except on American and Rwandan holidays when processed on the following day.

Please call 250-596-400 X 2606 during working hours or e-mail consularkigali@state.gov with questions.  We are open 0900-1730 Monday - Thursday and 0900-1300 on Fridays.  Visa applications are accepted by appointment only, except for diplomats and officials, who may drop off their applications at any time. 

Report your Visa Lost/Stolen to the U.S. Embassy

Please report lost / stolen visas to the US Embassy by e-mail (above) or fax: 250-596-591.  Please supply a copy of a police report.  Specifically state whether the visa was lost or stolen.  Be sure to include your full name, date of birth, place of birth, address in the U.S., and an email address (if available).  If you have a copy of the passport or visa, fax this to the Embassy or consular section.  Otherwise, if known, report the category of visa, and the passport number from the lost/stolen visa.   If you have already reported your visa lost/stolen to the U.S. Embassy abroad, and then you later find your misplaced visa, please note that the visas will be invalid for future travel to the U.S, and you must apply in person at the Embassy  for a new visa.
